The Sheridan Theatre 2015
The Sheridan Theatre and diner is based off a collection of Edward Hopper's paintings
which are set in Greenwich Village in the 1940s. This area of New York City attracted experimental theatre that broke traditional conventions. My space challenges the relationship between the audience and the actors. The 3 stages of the theatre are visible from the street as well as inside the theatre space. Rotation is used as a new means of performance changing the relationship between the stage, actor and audience.
